Last month me and my boyfriend took our first adventure to Negril, Jamaica.
We stayed at the five star luxury Sensatori Thomson hotel in Negril for one week, I had the best time and it is a holiday I will cherish forever.
Our room was super spacious and clean, with white and gold interior. We had a guest bathroom, a living area, two huge wardrobes, another bathroom in our bedroom area and the biggest bed I have ever seen or slept in.
Most of the hotels are all inclusive as they do advise you not to leave the resort unless you take excursions with your travel agency. There were four restaurants to choose from as well as unlimited drinks, snacks etc. The food was really lovely, and I especially enjoyed the Caribbean restaurant.
Negril is known for its seven mile beach which is just beautiful, pure white sands and the bluest warmest sea. You had the choice of taking a dip in the sea with the many sea creatures or a dip in the many pools throughout the resort.

Our first excursion was a two and a half hour drive to the Dunn's River Falls which unfortunately we did not get any photographs of because we didn't want to risk getting our phones and cameras wet.
We also visited Bob Marley's house in Nine Mile, Montego Bay.
This excursion was with Thomson, I think it was around £150 for the two of us and it included a coach and tour guide for the day, access to Bob Marley's museum and Dunn's River Falls, as well as jerk chicken and rice for your lunch. This was the longest excursion we went on but it was so worth it.
You are recommended to buy water shoes (you can get these for around $7 in your hotel) as you do climb the Dunn's River Falls with a guide. It's an amazing experience though and I felt so proud after as it was quite a challenge.
The Bob Marley museum was also very interesting, there isn't much there but it's just nice to see. It is also where Bob is buried along with his mother and other family members. You will get offered Marijuana there and do expect to be around people smoking it. You could only do two things around Bob Marley's grave and that was light a candle or smoke a joint ha ha!
I lit a candle for him.

Kayaks and other fun boats were available to use within the resort for free

So our second excursion was the Black River Safari, YS Falls and the Appleton Rum Distillery.
To travel to these locations it was about an hours journey, for lunch we were given two Jamaican patties with a bottle of water and some banana chips. The Jamaican patties were literally so fresh and tasty, I would do anything for one right now!
I enjoyed this excursion although the Black River wasn't as exciting as we thought it would be, we got to see a few birds and some huge crocodiles which was quite cool as I have never seen a croc in real life before. After the Black River we headed to the YS Falls, this I would highly recommend. You don't climb the falls like you do at the Dunn's River but you can climb parts of it with an instructor, after you have seen the falls you can then go in the ice cold natural springs pool which is all natural water with no chlorine or anything added. Then there is a warm pool which you can end at (you can start in the warm pool if you wish, this is just my recommendation). I would've liked longer at the YS Falls as you only get around an hour there.
We ended the day at the Appleton Rum Distillery, I found this a bit boring but it depends if you like rum. A lot. It was all part of the fun though!
The famous Ricks Cafe

We spent a few days relaxing, enjoying some lovely food and dipping our toes in the sea.
I love being in water, it's my happy place!
The Saturday before we headed home we went to the world famous Ricks Cafe which offers a great alternative to Negril's seven mile beach. It is known for its beautiful sunset and naturally formed cliffs and is voted one of 10 best bars in the world. Here we watched locals and non locals jump from the extremely high cliffs, if you do decide to do the cliff jump it is at your own risk. It was really fun to see people jumping off but a lot of the jumps sounded like they really hurt! We also watched the beautiful sunset over miles of seawater. I'd recommend taking a trip there if you are ever in Jamaica because its worth seeing, a taxi from our hotel in Negril cost around $30 there and $30 back.
Overall it was a great trip, I hope you enjoy the photographs!
